Can the temperature really be this nice in late June?! The mid-70s and sunny, this is a dream. Typically, during this time of year, I’m prepared to become a waterfall of sweat. I mean, I don’t want to jinx this year so far, but I’m digging this summer time weather right now. It was off to Champaign, IL for us where we would shoot the ceremony on the University of Illinois campus. Prep time happened with zero hiccups. This was perfect as this allowed for a very relaxed time before the ceremony because once the ceremony happens, it’s go time. Between family formals, outdoor pictures, and the reception, there is hardly time to remember to take a breath. That could just be me because when we are finished, I feel like I just finished running a marathon. At least, mentally I pretty much did run a marathon. My mind is always moving a million miles per hour, looking for the best lighting, best location, etc.

Michael and Jackie are such a great couple to work with. Having worked with them twice before, I had a pretty good idea of what to expect. Both of them are just great to be around and they were always up to try whatever to get the shot. I’m always trying new things or experimental shots, so it’s always fun to have couples willing to experiment with my sometimes crazy ideas. After outdoor pictures on the quad of UofI, we made our way to the reception at the Champaign Country Club. First of all, what an amazing staff this place had. They were all so friendly and helpful and throughout the evening, they made sure the evening was perfect for everyone. The location was pretty amazing as well, but I’m sure that was a given. We just loved working with these two, as well as their wedding party and families. Everyone was so great to work with and we are honored to have had the opportunity to photograph the moments of Jackie and Michael’s big day.
