Maybe it’s just me, but I love this time of year when the days start to get shorter. Don’t get me wrong, I love summer and the vast amount of light it brings with it, but there’s something pretty awesome about photographing sunset pictures at 6:00pm, of course as this blog post is being published sunset is now 4:30 thanks to daylight saving ending. We started Crystal and Chris’ engagement pictures at Ballard Nature Center in Altamont to get a wooded look for their pictures. They also wanted pictures that were a little more urban, unfortunately, Altamont doesn’t have a lot to offer in that area. About half way through the session we went downtown Effingham where we walked the streets some to see what we could come up with. There was so much available to us, of course with it being just after 5:00, we had a little bit of traffic to work with, but it’s Effingham, I’ve worked with Chicago rush hour traffic before for pictures, so this was nothing. 🙂 I had a lot of fun working with these two. We were able to set up a lot of real moments to photograph some candid looks and really capture the love they have for each other.
