Last week, I decided to start up what I’m calling pop-up sessions. Inspired by the popularity of pop-up shops, I thought it would be cool to do something like this, but for pictures. So what is a pop-up session? A Pop-Up Session is a session that can be last minute, location-based, or topic/theme based. For Kayla and Jeff’s session, the theme was “new home.” They just purchased their first house together and what better way to celebrate this new chapter than with pictures? In the future, a Pop-Up Session could be me announcing I’ll be in a certain area for 2 hours and it’s first come, first serve to ultra discounted pictures. The next week, it could be a theme like the first person to contact me who just had a baby in the last month, maybe you’re planting a garden, or maybe it’s a bit of both location/theme, such as going to the zoo in St. Louis. Ultimately, I want to provide everyone an opportunity to have fun, unique pictures taken. Pop-Up Sessions are greatly limited to either the window of time announced or to just the first person to contact me. Keep up with our Facebook and Instagram for more information and announcements.

As I mentioned, this session of Kayla and Jeff was to celebrate the purchase of a new home. We were so fortunate to work with them last year by capturing the special moments of their wedding day and now to photograph this next stage of their life? What an honor! This was also a first for me as I was able to photograph the moments when they opened up their wedding album for the first time! I’ve always wanted to do this, so it was cool to get both new home and album presentation sessions in one.
