It’s been a while since we’ve had a Sunday wedding, and this was not the typical Sunday wedding for us either. The night before we had a wedding in Salem, which is about a 40 minute drive for us. After getting home that night and backing up all the images from that day, batteries were charged, and bags were repacked so that I could be in bed by 2:00am, only to have to leave at 9:00am this Sunday for Jackie and Brandon’s wedding, which was three hours away. It may seem hectic, but I love it! I love photographing weddings, and I love getting out and seeing new places. Jackie and Brandon’s wedding took place out at Little Piney Lodge in Hermann, MO. It’s a drive away, sure, but holy cow this place was fantastic. I would even go on to encourage couples to give it a look, even with the drive, the scenery, the venue, it’s perfect! During dinner, we had an opportunity to talk with the owners some and get a feel for why they did what they did and they were so passionate about providing a great venue for couples to help ensure their day was perfect. A lot of people will go on to complain about weddings in some way, but they were so genuine about the role they play in wedding days. They were great people to work with.

On top of that, Jackie and Brandon were great to work with too! The location made for some great prep pictures from doing them outside the lodge for Brandon’s time and inside the lodge for Jackie’s prep, everything was perfect. The wedding day went be so smoothly, and additionally the weather could not be anymore perfect. The wedding took place under a gazebo with a pond and trees in the background; perfection! After the ceremony, the sun began to set and the reception began. Under the light of some outdoor string lights and in the middle of the large brick paved dance floor, Jackie and Brandon began to dance the night away, along with nearly their entire guest list from the reception, at least that’s how it felt. The dance area was plenty big enough, but once the music started, it became quite small with so many people out there, as a photographer though, I LOVE this! As our time came to and end, Jackie and Brandon wanted to celebrate with sparklers, so we arranged two rows of people, and as the sparklers began to flame, they walked through, laughing the entire time! I loved their smiles, as well as the emotion from the guests!
