Whenever I have the chance to travel for a session, I’m all for it. I especially love visiting new areas. Obviously from the title of this blog, you’ll know that St. Louis is not a new area for me, but where we started the session was. The session started near Belleville, IL at a fire station. This is also something I’ve been wanting to do for a while as I’ve had some ideas for pictures for an emergency worker. While the picture I have edited is not in this blog, it will be up on my facebook soon. Jenna and Derek were such a fun couple to work with. They had scoped out the area prior to the shoot looking for some locations and they were perfect! The fall colors were in full force and the locations we had featured fences, trees, a cool avenue with trees surrounding, it was all picture perfect! After our session near Belleville we made our way to St. Louis where we walked the streets for a while to find a good location. This is something I love to do with city sessions. Plus, it gets us a little exercise walking for a good distance. Our first location was going to be near the arch. I knew there was a lot of construction happening down that way, but I did not know just how much work was being done. Holy cow! The entire arch area was completely removed and a ton of work was happening. Needless to say, pictures at the arch did not happen, but that did not prevent us from getting pictures with the arch peaking in. St. Louis is such a great city to photograph in because while it has a LOT to offer, it’s a smaller city that allows you to move around a little more easily than say Chicago or NYC. Overall, it was a fantastic session and I look forward to featuring more of Jenna and Derek’s images.
