Something new I started introducing last year was a day after session. The idea behind this session was that the couple would get back into their dress and tux and we would capture more pictures of the two of them, sometimes it might be the day after the wedding, but most cases it’s a week or two later. Traci and John were my first for the day after session and we did their session a week later. It came in handy especially for these two because the day of their wedding Hurricane Isaac decided to make it’s way up to us, we were able to capture many pictures of the wedding party, but most of the focus was on the party as we knew we had a day after shoot to fall back on for Traci and John.

Our first scheduled date was ruined because of a storm that came through, but it ended up being a blessing in disguise because the original date we had planned it was very warm and humid, and two days later when the shoot took place, the temperature changed completely and it was partly cloudy (my favorite) and wow! This was just an awesome session. It was so much fun having the opportunity to photograph these two as if it was their wedding day again except without the stress of the wedding day on top of us. Just a relaxing afternoon of shooting whatever we felt like and experimenting with different types of shots. I had such a blast working with these two again!!

Sometimes I love to take a trip back to styles of pictures I used to do. Kind of gets me back in touch with my roots and I get to take a picture that I really like from back then and upgrade it. So I call this “couple in the sun spotlight v2.0” 🙂 v1.0 can be found here: Travis & Kara
