With how much I’ve traveled for sessions, the one area I’ve not been to very often is western Illinois. In fact, I’ve done more sessions in Dallas, Texas than I have western Illinois (minus the St. Louis metro area)! However, I wouldn’t mind doing more along the Illinois border, holy cow there are some amazing picture opportunities. We started at a golf course a little bit out of Quincy that had some great areas with rows of trees and a covered bridge. LIke with anything involving weddings, you have to be prepared for anything. When we arrived, the golf cart that was supposed to be available to us was not, and the pro shop was closed so we were stuck. Thankfully a kid was practicing his putting on the putting green and when Tyler talked with him, the kid offered his personal golf cart to us. Too cool! The locations we had to work with at the golf course were pretty amazing. After the golf course, we drove into Quincy. This is where things get a little fun. The reason we went into town was to use the lit up bridge in the background. Quincy lights up their bridge in many colors, however since it was breast cancer awareness, the bridge was lit up a pink color. To get to this point we had to wait quite a while for the sun to set. We didn’t waste this time though, we definitely took advantage of the amazing sunset we had to work with! These pictures, I swear, are some of my favorite sunset pictures. The scene was amazing! Golden sky, river, bridge… it was amazing! Once it was dark enough to get the bridge lights in pictures, we wrapped up the session with a nearly black sky and lit up bridge. I could not be any more thrilled with how these turned out!! What a fun session this was with Amanda and Tyler.
