As a photographer, sessions can get hectic. Whether it is a baby not cooperating, a wedding not going as planned, or whatever the case… It can get pretty crazy. That is, however, on of my favorite things about photography, it keeps me on my toes and keeps things interesting. Photography is a field of creativity and “one chance to capture the moment” style (at least that’s my style). I know a lot of photographers who go to the same places, do the same poses, use the same props, etc. How can that be fun? How can sessions be interesting? And how will you ever capture the true personality of the person you are photographing? Well, you can’t, at least I do feel you can. Some people might look down on the fact that I encourage people to think of locations and poses that they will like. It’s not because I don’t want to do it, it’s because these are your pictures, and if you pick the locations and poses, your TRUE personality is going to SHINE!! 🙂
Anyway, that is exactly how Katie’s senior pictures went. It was one of those sessions that I felt like I was with a life long friend taking pictures of her. It didn’t feel like a bit of work at all. In just 5 minutes I felt like I had known Katie all my life, and her true personality came out in no time. It was probably two pictures into the session she started cracking up, with the help of her mom of course. To quote her mom, “Give him some butt!” The two of them were hilarious, and it really made for some fun pictures with Katie.
