I’ve said it before, but I’m a HUGE fan of dual sessions, so much so that I’ve created a package for seniors just for two sessions. Why? Unlike weddings where I will work with a couple over a span of 1-2 years during the preparations of their wedding to the presentations, I only get to work with seniors pretty much just one day and a presentation. That’s hardly enough time to get to know someone and their personality and who they are as a person. Granted as a photographer, my job is to bring that personality out in one session, and I believe I have the ability to do so, but there’s something about that second session. I guess it might be the fact that you have one session nailed down, the senior has the pictures that will satisfy him/her if that is all they finished with so now we have the option to be a little more laid back and get dirty if needed. For example, we started of Bailey’s session in a creek bottom with her standing on a log that was laying about 5 feet high and across the creek. Was it smart for me to have us start in the riskiest spot of the evening? Probably not, but the pictures looked GREAT! Of course I was praying the entire time that she would not fall in because the water did not really look that deep and I don’t really plan on kicking off the senior season with an injury. YIKES!  Fortunately Bailey did not fall, and the rest of the session went great! The sun worked with us too, which I’m a huge fan when that giant star is cooperative. 🙂
