Midway through this year, Amanda messaged asking about doing a session of her and her and Alex. They’ve been together for quite a while and haven’t had professional pictures taken. For this reason alone, I was on board! I love having the opportunity of providing people pictures that they can have to cherish. Additionally, she’s the wedding director at the Thelma Keller Convention Center in Effingham, so it’s not as though we were strangers prior to the session. We’ve worked with each other a number of times and always appreciate the work she does at the Keller Convention Center, making sure couples have a great reception. We did a Fall session out at Ballard Nature Center. She had told me prior to the session that she liked black and white images, I love editing black and white images too, but I also wanted to do something a little different. I have a 35mm film camera that I use personally for fun. I use black and white film in it because it looks so cool. I thought that it might be cool to incorporate that into my professional photography and see how it turns out. Unfortunately, I do not have any of those pictures back at the time of writing this email. Digital photography is great because it’s instant, but there’s something about film photography. The wait is super exciting and the pictures just look better… they just do. 🙂 I am thrilled that Alex and Amanda allowed me the opportunity to take their pictures. They were fantastic to photograph and total naturals in front of the camera.
