After our first couple of locations we decided that this engagement session was just going to be a session of product placement! Let me first start off by saying this was a joke, sort of, I’ll explain. Our first location took place at Joe Sippers in Effingham. We got some pictures that highlighted Erinn’s ring, but within this shot was the Joe Sippers logo on the coffee cups, we decided to leave it there because it’s great to look back on and remember where the pictures were taken years from now, but also because if we were going to do pictures inside, we wanted to show some love! Joe Sippers has such a fun interior and it made for some great pictures and to show even more love, I wanted to take a picture shooting through the glass on the south side of the building because the sun was pouring in and it made for some great reflection pictures but also allowing Eric and Erinn to pop a little. After Joe Sippers, we shot at the ever famous, Heart Theater. Just the outside, but there’s so much character with the sign. Unfortunately, it’s no longer operating, but the sign does create for some great pictures. A short while later as were at another location, as we were taking pictures, someone approached us with some flowers. She was with Blume and Baum, and said that they were too cute not to give them a flower. Naturally, I had to incorporate this into their pictures. This is the first time something like this has happened before, and as a business owner myself, I loved that this person took initiative to do something that maybe doesn’t result in dollars, but hopefully through this blog post showing some vendor love, I can help guid you there way because they were pretty awesome!
After this, we got approval to take some pictures at Fresh Digs. Seriously, could the order of locations during their session be any cooler?! Effingham has a little of character and stores to match, and I think we were able to capture that character of Effingham through the locations we shot at, which works out great for Eric and Erinn, because this is what they wanted! Fresh Digs started selling a new line of furniture recently and I knew even before going in that I wanted to use the big blue couch they had. I thought it would create for some relaxed, candid looking pictures, but also highlighting the uniqueness of Fresh Digs. After this, we took a stroll down some alleys in Effingham that I’ve never been before. I wanted to capture a side of Effingham that wasn’t so common for me, and when it’s 60 degrees and sunny in the middle of February, I’d say that’s a good time to go for a walk. I had a lot of fun working with Eric and Erinn. They had such fun personalities and they were just a joy to photograph!
