Wow! First of all, who would have ever guessed it would be a whopping 80 degrees on fourth of July weekend? We are in Illinois, correct? It’s supposed to be like 185 degrees by now. HA! So already, the day was off to a great start and I hadn’t even starting taking pictures yet! Add in one of the most calm, collected, and relaxed couples to the mix and already this day is panning out to be one of the most perfect wedding days ever. I’m not even exaggerating, we even started the day with a first look and family pictures. Full disclosure, family pictures tend to be a time when stress can begin to peak on the wedding day. Families, am I right? We were running way ahead of schedule and a lot of the family actually showed up early so we were able to get a head start on family pictures. Everything went smoothly and we finished with ample time for Mary Jo and Nick to spend some time relaxing before the ceremony got started.

After the ceremony, the plan was for the wedding party to go celebrate downtown, but the closest park was a town away and it didn’t make sense to drive to a different town only for the wedding party to turn around and come back. We decided to do outdoor pictures of the wedding party just outside of the church. Things get a bit interesting in July. The sun is pretty bright and high in the sky in the early afternoon. However, this church has one of the largest trees I’ve ever seen in this area. The shade circle was so big that the entire wedding party was able to be covered in shade and allow the pictures to turn out pretty good. I’m extremely happy with how they turned out. The wedding party was so great to work with. They were a ton of fun!

The reception was equally as great! From the time dancing started, the dance floor was packed! It was so great being able to document the story of Mary Jo and Nick’s wedding day and capture the fun atmosphere of the reception. I’m honored to have been given the opportunity to tell the story of their day on camera. Congrats Mary Jo and Nick!!
