I’ve seriously been looking forward to this day for probably a few years now. I’m sure Sarah has heard that quite a bit, but let me preface. Sarah is a good friend from high school, even beyond. After we graduated, we worked together at a couple jobs and along with a few others including her maid of honor, Alisha (we shot her wedding too), we would hang out many nights together playing card games. A handful of years went by and I’m doing wedding photography and I believe at least two or three brides contacted me who were all referred by Sarah. This is why I say I’ve been looking forward to this day for a while because I had the opportunity to photograph all these weddings with help from Sarah, yet she wasn’t married yet. When the big day was upon us I was so thrilled to have the opportunity to photograph her wedding too!! I had met Adam a couple times before the wedding, and even after a few minutes of talking with him, you know that this is someone who likes to have fun, the stories he has are pretty incredible and hilarious. Before the wedding day, I was quite certain this would be a fun one, and it really was. The wedding took place right across the street from their house and the location was insanely perfect! The day was amazing as well. I believe it was around 80 degrees and a nice cool wind to keep the temperature down, of course this wasn’t a good thing for me having a bald head. I was comfortable outside, I wasn’t hot, but with the sun out and cool wind I wasn’t aware I was getting burnt until it was too late. Oh well, it was worth it though.
The reception took place just down the road in an outdoor venue with a large yard. Being a country wedding it only made sense to have yard games to keep the guest entertained. I seriously loved this! How fun. Sarah was very conscience of her guests and doing everything to ensure they were having a good time. During the pictures of the wedding party, guests were back at the reception eating already, this way they didn’t have to wait on us to arrive a little while later. As the wedding party ate, guests mingled with one another and played games in the yard. It was amazing, and it’s literally how I imagine wedding celebrations were back in the day. Have friends and family over, and have a good time. Simple, yet very effective and a lot of fun. Everything about this wedding was so much fun. Sure, it had normal wedding day hiccups, but overall, after it’s all said and done, it was a great day for such an amazing, fun, and loving couple!
