One thing that has become pretty popular among engaged couples is doing multiple engagement sessions. The reasons can be to get pictures early on to do save the dates, or maybe they simply want multiple sessions for different seasons or different scenery, whatever the reason, I’m a huge fan of multiple sessions! Why? Because it’s more time that we get to work together and the more facetime we get the better the relationship building is. Because photography is so personal, I like to do anything possible to make sure things are great relationally. Brandy and Tyler did a small engagement session in the fall for their save the dates and now recently, we did their main engagement session. The session took place in the middle of monsoon season. I know what you’re thinking, monsoons? Aren’t you in Illinois? Yes and yes! This summer has been nothing but rain until recently. Okay, I realize they aren’t really monsoons, but pretty much. The day of their session, things were looking great. No chance of rain, sunny, bearable temperature. Then, about two hours before the session, it started to get cloudy and it was looking a little rainy. I checked the radar, and wouldn’t you know, the rain was coming. About 30 minutes before the session it started to lightly rain. Seriously! At this point, I was screaming at the weather channel, because it was their fault, right? I connected with Brandy and Tyler and we decided we were going to go ahead and go for it and see what happens. It worked out so great! The rain held back up until the end of the session. We got a full session in, with outfit changes too, with little to no rain. If you look very closely in the last couple of shots, you’ll see some streaks of rain, but I’m actually a fan of these streaks as they add a pretty unique look to the images. This session was a ton of fun. Having the opportunity of working with Brandy and Tyler for a second time was amazing.
