Watching families grow from engaged couples to married couples, to families with kids has been one of the greatest honors as a photographer. I remember a few years ago sitting in a hotel room writing everything about myself on paper. Things that inspired me. The types of pictures I wanted to take. What my style was. Through all of this, I learned who I truly was as a photographer for the first time. This was seven years into my business and for the first time, I knew what I was going to do. I was a storyteller. When I started writing these notes down, at the time, I thought I was going to figure out what I was going to specialize in. Was I going to do exclusively weddings? Families? Seniors? Something else? After a night full of journaling, reflecting and praying, I learned that I didn’t want to specialize in just one area of photography. I wanted to do it all. I was doing it all prior, but I didn’t have a vision. At this point, I had vision. I wanted to tell stories. There’s no greater love story than a wedding and there’s no greater sequel story than photographing the introduction of a little one into the bunch! I have loved photographing the Pomeroy’s sequel story! Their boy was full of smiles and a joy to photograph! It’s sessions like this that really fuels my fire for storytelling!
