Wedding season is back and I’m loving it! Until you’ve worked in the wedding industry, you cannot understand the amount of energy that is required to work a wedding day. Please understand, this is not a complaining, negative tone. The energy required to work a wedding day is something I very much enjoy. However, after going months of not using said energy, it can be quite a change in pace. The crazy thing is, I do not think going to the gym will help that much. Sure, for cardio, the gym is great. Don’t get me wrong. But wedding energy is more mental than physical. Sure, I’m on my feet 98% of the day. I’m walking, crouching, sometimes running, climbing, dodging kids. Have you ever watched the NFL combine? It’s pretty much that. HA! Given the way this year has gone, peak wedding season is at its peak right now, and I’m loving it!

Lexi and Derek had such a perfect day for their wedding! I mean, perfect! This weather has been absolutely amazing and even though their wedding was in September, it was just as nice a month ago as it is today! This always makes for an enjoyable time outside as the wedding party can relax and not worrying about being a sweaty or frozen mess. The entire day took place at the Carriage House in Altamont and we did pictures at the Ballard Nature Center just outside of Altamont. Both of these locations are great. The Carriage House provides enough room for everyone to get ready and remain pretty private and, of course, having the hotel right next door is an added convenience. Ballard Nature Center provided a perfect setting for not just the outdoor pictures but for the first look between Derek and Lexi too. Everything about the day was fantastic. I’m so honored they allowed me to photograph their big day. Congratulations you two!
