Is it Fall? I mean seriously. It felt like Fall on Hope and Brandon’s wedding day and it was the first week of September. It’s kind of ironic because recently on a podcast that I co-host (A Wedding Podcast), we were talking about how we hear all the time from couples, “We want a Fall wedding, so we were thinking sometime in September.” But in reality, September is still summer and it oftentimes feels like the hottest, driest part of summer. Not Hope and Brandon’s wedding though, it was perfect. The wedding took place at Austin Mansion in Effingham. It’s an old mansion that has been revived to house events and weddings. The wedding party got ready there too. There are so many areas to photograph with big windows letting light pour in, I love the place! Plus, I’m a huge fan of old houses! I love the attention to detail and all the little hidden areas. As the wedding began, I had to pinch myself, because it seemed unreal how perfect the day was. The scenery outside the mansion was amazing and the temperature was a nice 76 degrees. You couldn’t ask for a better situation.
After the wedding, we spent time with Hope and Brandon and their wedding party at Ballard Nature Center in Altamont creating some fun images with them. They had videographers there, our good friends Bryan and Kelly, so it was fun collaborating with them and create some fun moments with everyone and preserve it on camera. Then, the party got started! Carriage House Event Center in Altamont hosted the reception. Everything was perfect. The room was filled with rose gold, white and greenery. I loved it, as did the camera! The reception was such a fun time, the dance floor was packed, the music was great, the environment was amazing! I’m so honored to have spent the day with Hope and Brandon and feel so thankful that they allowed me to photograph their big day! Congratulations you two!
