It seems as if Spring is arriving later and later every year. I remember when I first started in portrait photography, late March, early April was the time to start spring pictures. As time goes on, March is still winter, and April is that awkward time between winter and spring when some days it feels nice, but it’s still dead all around, or it’s just raining 25 days of the month. Holly and Brent’s session though? Perfect. Partly cloudy, mid-60s, Spring colors fully vibrant. It seriously couldn’t have been better. It’s these kinds of sessions that I dream of. Cool enough to wear pants, so when we venture through the brush, I don’t have to worry too much about poison ivy because I’m the type that will get it just by thinking about it… pretty much, and not warm enough to cause me to sweat just by standing outside. These two were a blast to photograph. Ballard Nature Center is an area I frequent for pictures and I wanted to go off the path, literally, to see what we could find. I got a bit bumpy and scratchy, but the results were well worth it, in my opinion, of course.
