Who would have believed that a wedding in the beginning of July would be 80 degrees? What a fantastic day for a wedding. A couple days prior I met with Jodi and Brent to go over some last minute questions and schedule updates, these two are just awesome. They have such fun personalities and I knew that their wedding day was going to be a great one. When Saturday rolled around my expectations were correct. Both Brent and Jodi were such a blast and they definitely provided many laughs throughout the day.
It’s always pretty interesting the locations we are taken to for wedding days. You know when someone says a location is in the middle of nowhere? Well, the church location for Brent and Jodi’s wedding literally was in the middle of nowhere. You look around and see nothing but fields and farm houses all around. No sign of civilization for the most part and then bam! Smack dab in the middle of all of this is a beautiful brick church, the steeple can be seen from quite a distance away, which actually made it pretty easy to find as we journeyed out there. The inside of the church was beautiful and provided for some great indoor pictures.
The reception took place at the Carriage House in Altamont. Couple of reason I love this place; first and most importantly, the place is amazing! Not only for being in a small town like Altamont, IL but it’s amazing even for a larger market. The high ceilings, the staircase, the massive amount of room for seating, this place is amazing and they really take care of you there. Even as a vendor, we were asked if we were doing alright and if there was anything they can do for us, this is awesome!! Not many venues treat vendors like friends but rather they usually treat them like they are criminals… it’s insane. Secondly, I like the Carriage House because it’s in the same town I live in, so after a reception it’s literally a one minute drive home! And with it being summer and not getting dark until 9:30 pm, there was enough daylight left when we got home for me to mow our lawn. Which I did not do though because after a wedding my brain is mush. I get home, upload pictures and sit back and do as little thinking as possible. Not really, but you get what I mean (I hope!) ha!
