Last year, it seemed like we got one week of fall weather and then it was hot for a little while, stormy and then extremely cold. This year, it’s a different story, and it’s been perfect for photo sessions. The fall colors are sticking around quite a while. The temperature is perfect, and all of this was the case with Caitlin’s senior session Saturday morning. I love senior sessions because it’s a great time during a person’s life. You’ve entered your last year of schooling before college or a job and I think it’s important to capture who you are during this time. These are the pictures you look back on and remember the type of person you were, the style of clothing, hairstyle, etc you were into. Of course maybe this isn’t always a good thing, and if it’s not, then it’s usually pretty funny to look back at those pictures. This is the thing I love about photography. Many photographers will suggest wearing solid colors, no brands, no designs, etc because solids are timeless. And this is true, however my philosophy on photography is, I don’t want to look back at pictures of me 20 years from now and think “wow! This pictures still look great, even today.” Don’t get me wrong, I want the quality to look great, but the style? No way! I want to look back and shake my head wondering what I was thinking wearing that type of shirt, or those pants, or whatever. That’s the beauty of photography. We had a lot of fun working with Caitlin and she was a fantastic senior to photograph. Unlike wedding couples we don’t have a very big window of opportunity to get to know seniors, only the time we photograph them, but within that small window you get to know their personality and who they are really quickly and Caitlin seemed to have this happy and fun personality about her and it really showed in the pictures, and I’m so thrilled we had the opportunity of working with her and can’t wait to show off some pictures from the day.
