I am pleasantly surprised with how mild most of Summer has been so far. Even days where it’s 90 degrees, it’s hard to complain considering we are in the heat of Summer (did you catch that clever phrasing?). After talking with Kendra and Dane about where to do engagement pictures, we decided that the University of Illinois Arboretum offered the best options. What a perfect evening we had. We started later in the evening than I normally do, but this gave us some of the best light to work with. Every spot we worked with was so dreamy. Full of vibrant summer colors of green and yellow. It was perfect. One spot in particular, I decided to shoot through some brush to create depth. I love photographing people with a mess of leaves in between us. It can produce some pretty cool imagery. As I’m taking the pictures, I feel little annoyances, it’s at that point, I realize I’m standing in the midst of a swarm of mosquitos. Talk about super annoying. The pictures were turning out so great, I didn’t want to leave, I figured I’d deal with a couple bug bites to get the shot. I feel pretty happy with how they turned out, so in my opinion, it was worth it! Overall, this was a great session, unfortunately, I’ve been a little slow at blogging about it. After photographing Kendra and Dane’s wedding last weekend, I was reminded I never blogged about their engagement pictures from a few weeks ago! Enjoy!
