Welcome Summer! I’m pretty sure there is no better way to celebrate the first day of summer than with a wedding and that’s what Derek and Andrea did. And it definitely felt like summer but that was hardly an issue at all. Hot? Sure. We were out in the middle of it taking pictures? You better believe it. I was definitely looking forward to Derek and Andrea’s wedding! After our shoot in Colorado and spending time with them getting to know them some, I knew that they would be an awesome couple to work with and they didn’t disappoint. More than that, their wedding party was a blast to work with too! Let’s be honest and bring out some dirty laundry, some wedding parties can be like running a day care, maybe worse at times. Hey! I’m just being real. Not Derek and Andrea’s. With how hot it was, their party was just that… a party! The pictures were a blast, all of them were so much fun and had such great personalities.
This was another wedding that we were able to put together a fusion video together. I love doing these because while it’s not the full wedding video, it is a great alternative and with the type of personalities these two have, it’s necessary to capture that not just in pictures but in video as well. After an amazing ceremony we made our way to a barn. But this wasn’t any barn, the brush that had grown up the side of it looked amazing and more than that, the lighting was perfect. You couldn’t ask for a better location nor a better group to put in that location. Lots of laughs were shared especially when the guys put on their super hero shirts. Now, I realize this pose isn’t anything new. However, I decided I can’t just do the pose and just have a nice edit done to it, we have to go big, so with a little bit of inspiration from “The Man of Steel” movie and the way it looks, I decided to create a similar edit, and I think we nailed it.
The reception was equally as amazing. You walk in and are greeted by the warm glow of a ceiling light display and a head table backdrop that was created from a barn and has custom lit up letters that spelled LOVE. This provided a great backdrop for the dance floor and the reception all together. And it was definitely a taste of who Derek and Andrea are; so creative and fun and full of love. I greatly enjoyed working with them! Congratulations Derek and Andrea!!
First look with his soon to be bride! What a special moment.
And then a revealing to her dad, another special moment!
