Wedding days with chances of rain seem to add a little more stress to the day than usual. At least for me, because obviously we want to get amazing pictures outside.  This didn’t seem to phase Stephanie or Devin much. Of course they wanted picture outside as well but it was pretty clear that they were focused on each other. These two are just awesome. They have such a laid back attitude, very loving to each other, caring and such a blast. AND, they cared about their pictures. I love it when couples get involved with their pictures, even if we can’t get to any of them, the fact that they are that invested in their photography means so much. Plus years from now it’ll mean even more when they are able to enjoy those images time and time again.

What a day, though. Full of joy and lots of emotions. Stephanie and Devin wrote letters and multiple letters were written so this definitely tugged at the hearts of many! And these emotions continued on through the ceremony. You can definitely tell the way these two look at each other and talk with one another that they have something special and that they have a love for one another that’s unlike any other. They were captivated by their wedding day and one another that nothing was going to get in the way of that, not the weather and not even a hit and run. Immediately after the ceremony, Devin was informed his truck mirror was hit and that person kept going. Being so cool, he responded, “If that’s the worse thing that happens today, I’d say we are fine.” What an attitude!! Nothing could bring these two down from cloud nine!

We went out to the SIUe campus area where there were trails, ponds, and all sorts of areas for pictures. What a beautiful location and the lighting was equally as amazing. From there we mad our way to the renovated Wildey Theater, and these reception hall looked absolutely amazing. It had a mix of old school and modern appeal to it. And of course being a theater, and having the last name of Smith was was just too perfect to have on the Marquee “Now Showing: Mr & Mrs Smith” which of course we got pictures of. Overall it was a great day, Stephanie and Devin were awesome to work with and I’m thrilled they allowed us to capture the moments of their big day.
