During the Fall season, there is one location I love to photograph so much, but it’s a location that requires just a bit of traveling. The gardens at SIU Edwardsville offers some of the best Fall pictures without having to travel TOO far away. This location has always been a favorite of mine. Apparently, it looks to be a favorite of many, because the day of Mary and Patrick’s session, I pull up to the parking lot to see the park lined with photographer after photographer doing mini sessions. It was a pretty funny sight to see. The driveway into the park had four photographers literally within 10-20 feet of one another with their set for mini sessions set up, and then throughout the park, around just about every bend of the trail, there was a photographer with their mini session happening. As a photographer, I’m glad to see so many people getting their pictures taken, because photography is so important, especially for family pictures. Anyway, as we got started, working with Mary and Patrick was such a great time. These two were a blast to photograph and so easy to work with. Some sessions, we have a little warming up period as we get comfortable with one another, let’s be real, posing in front of the camera isn’t something we do all the time, so it can be a little uncomfortable. These two, however, were total naturals. You could tell they have fun together because there were times before I even set up a shot, they were interacting in a way that was too picture-perfect to not go ahead and photograph. I had such a great time photographing them, especially during such a perfect time of year at a pretty amazing location too.
