Brandy and Tyler are engaged to get married next year. They wanted to have some pictures taken this Fall just have something before we do the full engagement session at a later date. So we did something of a mini session on the way to another appointment we had. This session was only about 20 minutes long, but I swear we finished with enough pictures to satisfy anyone’s picture needs. I would absolutely move to this model if I didn’t want to build relationships with couples. Being a wedding phtogorapher, this is a very personal position. I will work with a couple not only on their wedding day, but in the days and months leading up to their big day. From the engagement session to planning the timeline, it’s a lot of work and I want to make sure we have a great relationship. For that reason, I don’t intend on making engagement sessions 20 minutes long, however, for those who maybe don’t want to spend a lot of time doing pictures at the engagement session, we definitely proved it’s doable.
In just the 20 minutes we had working together, Brandy and Tyler seemed like naturals. They said they’ve never had pictures taken together (outside of phone shots of course), but I would have never guessed it. I guess that’s the power of love, right? Have a couple who is in love look at each other, and you have what you need for some fun and romantic images. They look great together and they were a ton of fun to photograph. Tyler even mentioned a couple times that it wasn’t as difficult as he expected it to be. In my mind, if a groom can feel this way about pictures and enjoy the time, because let’s be real, most guys aren’t all about the pictures, I consider that a win! For this reason, he’s already labeled as an awesome groom to work with. I cannot wait for our full engagement session. This short time was a blast, and Firefly Grill made for an AWESOME location for pictures. I mean, look at those trees!!
