I’m just LOVING this summer! Maybe it’s because the dead of winter lasted so long, but I’ve really been loving the vibrancy in the colors that nature has been showing off. This, of course, makes for some pretty incredible images! We started Melissa and Logan’s engagement session out at Lake Sara in Effingham. We started there to take advantage of the shaded area as it was still pretty bright out when we started. After Lake Sara, we traveled to a location out in the country where there was an old metal bridge. This location was perfect. The sun was beginning to set and the golden glow of sunset was becoming very present. The road we were on was definitely one that’s not used a lot, and considering it was just flooded pretty heavily a few days prior, it was obvious that not many traveled this road. I told Melissa and Logan that this didn’t matter because I tend to have the worst luck when it comes to roads. A road could be completely dead for 10 minutes but as soon as I arrive to take pictures, it seems every person in town decides to take that one road. We laughed, but I didn’t expect this to actually happen… it did! I’m not even joking, a car would go over the bridge about every 30 seconds. This wouldn’t have been a huge deal except that some of the pictures involved their Harley Davidson and this was not a light bike by any means. Fortunately, those 30-second breaks were all we needed to get the shots. After the bridge, we took advantage of the sun setting behind the tree line and shot at a really cool barn/field area. Because of the shade, we were able to take advantage of some pretty cool angles of the barn. We wrapped things up with some pictures with their colt and called it a night. What a fun session this was and what a fun couple Melissa and Logan were to work with!
