It seems like yesterday I was traveling to San Francisco for Tracy and Sam’s engagement session. If there is one drawback to photographing weddings, it’s that time goes by WAY too quickly!! But here we are and the day is so perfect! The scenery is look pretty spectacular too with the golden sunlight and Firefly Grill as the backdrop. I’ve had the honor the last four years of photographing Sam’s family Thanksgiving get-together, so I’ve had the privelge of working with these two for quite a while now, as well as Sam’s family. It was fantastic having a chance to reconnect with them and photograph them. Because of my familiarity with Sam’s family, I knew that this would be quite a fun wedding day. The wedding day was so relaxed, during prep time, while there was the usual chaos of getting ready, it was also very relaxed with everyone kicking back and just enjoying their time together. It was all about family and spending time together as a family celebrating the big day. The atmosphere was just different compared to most prep times… I LOVED it!
The wedding ceremony couldn’t have been anymore perfect. Set in the lawn of Firefly Grill with the sun just behind the large weeping willow, the scenery looked amazing. The backdrop of the willow and pond in the background was perfect. I can’t say it enough, everything about this wedding was a dream as a photographer. These two were so full of love, they were a dream couple as a photographer as well. 🙂 As the ceremony wrapped up the and reception began, Firefly Grill’s staff kicked it into gear and provided such a great experience for a reception. It was pretty amazing watching them in action, I’m always blown away! As the celebration began, things were at level 10 and remained there for the entirety of the reception. This group was ready to dance! I couldn’t ask for a better environment to photograph. The crowd was into it, the dance floor was full, all of this made for some pretty incredible pictures. To wrap things up, we ended with a requested picture of Sam and Tracy with all of their guests, inspired from the image in The Shining. I loved how this picture turned out.
Overall, this wedding day was absolutely fantastic. Sam and Tracy were so great to work with and the location could not have been any better. Firefly made for one incredible wedding and reception. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram for more images to be shared!
