It’s been a while since I’ve done a morning session. The morning is probably my favorite time to do pictures. Why? Because you get the look of the evening time, the shine of the dew on plants, and the rest of the day to not have to worry about preparing for a session, or worse, wondering if it might rain on the day of your session. Sure, it may require you to get up earlier than usual, but there’s nothing wrong with that. The kicker is, if you do a summer morning session, it’s going to be a very early morning because if we are going to replicate the evening light, the sun is rising very early in the morning. I told Victoria and Grant if we were going to do morning, it was going to need to be around 6:00 at the latest. They were all for it! We might bright and early and started the session off with a nice little walk as we did pictures on the TREC Trail in Effingham, IL. I’m all about this walking business too since 90% of my photography work consists of me sitting behind a computer. While it was an early morning, the upside to doing a morning session is you get cooler temperatures. Near the end of our session, we realized this to be an advantage because it was starting to get a bit warm. My favorite part about their session was the boxing items they brought with them. Grant and Victoria have a history with kickboxing and wanted to incorporate some of that into their pictures. I loved taking the traditional boxing style images, but adding a little love to them as well! Even better, this was session #1, session #2 is coming soon! I love two-part engagement sessions!
