Why get family pictures? In a digital age where just about everything we own has a camera, why should we still be getting family pictures? If it’s about getting some photos of everyone smiling at the camera, let’s be honest, you can set your phone up on a shelf and get that shot. But what about memories of the whole family together? Moments in time where the whole family is together. Not the whole family minus one because one of you is taking the picture, but the entire family engaging with each other, laughing with one another, having fun. This is my desire for family pictures. My other desire is that you print your pictures. Whether it be through me or somewhere else, what is important to me is that you have prints. Why? Digital media changes quickly, I’m sure we are all aware of that. However, prints remain wherever technology goes. Whenever you have printed moments hanging on your walls, what do you want to remember from those moments? I’m sure you want to see the images and smile, right? You want to look at the images and have happy memories. I truly believe this is why lifestyle family sessions are so important. These sessions allow for happy moments to be caught on camera and by printing them out and displaying them, you are able to remember those happy moments and cherish those times with your family.

I have had the opportunity of working with the Hoene family since their engagement session and wedding. What an honor it is to be called upon to capture more memories of them. I can’t say this enough, but it’s truly a warming feeling when I get to go from wedding photographer to family photographer. It’s such an amazing feeling and I’m so thankful for these types of opportunities.
