It was just over a year ago that I was doing Hannah’s brother Jake’s band pictures – here. And man, was that a blast. I love urban looking pictures, by that I mean rust, bricks, fallen buildings, etc, and while we explored Shelbyville for some spots for Jake’s band, I immediately fell in love with Shelbyville. The town is full of color and VERY interesting buildings, and back ally-ways. So when Jake called me up this year and said that his sister was wanting me to do her senior pictures, I was definitely excited to make another trip to Shelbyville for some pictures. Not only is the town full of color and interesting backdrops, it has also got Lake Shelbyville, which provided for some GREAT pictures with lots of fall colors.

However, while I love fall colors, some of my favorite pictures from Hannah’s shoot was in a parking lot behind some buildings. you could tell at one point this was a busy parking lot to a lot of striving businesses, but it is now covered in weeds, rust, and interesting colors, you know the factors that make for some great pictures. Hannah’s dad and Jake tagged along to help bring some laughter into the pictures, and boy did they. We captured so many pictures of Hannah in mid laugh, and I’m not going to lie, I’m a huge fan of these pictures because they are so real. No, it’s not the trendy pose with an epic backdrop, or a perfectly arranged pose, but lets be real these types of pictures have their place, but it doesn’t get more genuine than a laugh. 🙂 And I love to laugh so maybe I’m a little biased when it comes to these types of pictures.

Overall, it was a great day for a shoot. Not too hot, not too cold, it was just about the perfect day. And of course the fall colors add to that. 🙂
