There is SO much I can go on about with this sweet family, and maybe I will. So be prepared for a longer post in case I ramble on. 🙂 I’m sure I’ve told the story before, but let’s go back to the beginning. I remember Brianne and Daniel’s engagement session like it was yesterday. We had plans of doing pictures at Garden of the Gods and then Cave-in-Rock. Both locations being about 30 minutes from one another. I thought we were starting at cave-in-rock and when I arrived I didn’t see them. I had to drive 5 minutes out of town just to find one bar of signal to call them. That’s when I found out they were north of me at garden of the gods. The 30 minute drive back to them I thought for sure they were going to cancel on me as their photographer. What a terrible mistake, we didn’t have an extra 30 minutes to burn and here I was wasting time arriving at the wrong location. It actually ended up working out great as the lighting was a lot softer and nicer to work with, but still I was late. Talk about a first impression. We did the wedding, but I still thought I for sure lost any chance of working with them afterward. Then we had our first babies days apart from each other and through that experience a friendship blossomed. Fast forward to today, and we are taking pictures of little baby Isla… baby number 2! I feel so honored and am so grateful for this family. Being able to tell their family story through pictures is the best feeling on earth and to top it off, when you walk into their home, it’s filled with pictures from all the sessions we have done. Seeing all these pictures that I have had the honor of taking on their walls is indescribable.

Since it’s getting colder outside and because we have pulled away from the traditional newborn pictures, we did an indoor lifestyle session for Isla’s newborn pictures. I LOVE these pictures! I can’t get enough of these sessions. This sessions specifically. All the pictures on the walls, Finn’s fun and energetic personality and the love Brianne and Daniel have and show for each other, it all makes for such great pictures. Like I said, having this opportunity is such an honor and I feel so blessed to have had the chance to not only photograph their family but to grow close with them and share life outside of work together too!
