Every year I do an evaluation on my business and try to critically think of areas I can improve on. Every year, I have one specific thing that I focus on the most. This year, that thing is delivery. I have processes in place to help ensure communication prior to a wedding is great. During the wedding, we have a plan and typically execute on that plan as smoothly as possible. After the wedding, I’m still working closely with the couple to design their album to make sure the design is one they love. After that, though? This is where I felt there could be some improvement. My deliver just wasn’t where I wanted it to be. Prints remained in the plastic wrap they came in during shipment and I would either meet the couple at my studio or a convenient location and that was it. I rarely got to see the couple open up their album for the first time and relive their day. Last year I did a session with a couple to celebrate their first home purchase as a married couple. The timing worked out perfectly that I was able to deliver their album and photograph those moments too! Whenever possible, I want to provide this service for couples when their album and any prints that are included are ready to go home. This was such a fun time. Watching Andrew and Lara open up their album for the first time and relive those special memories. Moments like this makes what I do so worth it!
