When Doug and Annette sent me pictures of where they wanted to do their session, I was 100% on board. When you hear the word spillway, you might picture a something like a deep ditch, or a concrete ramp for water to run down, you probably don’t think of a huge waterfall, at least I didn’t. And when I say huge, I mean compared to my size. Of course, if you compare this to Niagara Falls, you’ll only be disappointed by how much I rave about this waterfall. HA! It was a cold day. In fact, we were under a winter weather advisory because snow was incoming. Even though it was cold, the scenery was too good. Annette and Doug scouted the location the week before the session, they said at the time, the water fall was more of a trickle and not much of a fall. Fortunately, it must have rained sometime prior to the session because it was definitely rushing water. The water was rushing so hard, you could feel the force of this water as it fell down the different levels. On top of the waterfall, the scenery was absolutely amazing. We had the perfect Fall colors to go along with the Fall session, even though there was a little snow falling once in a while during the session. These two were so much fun to photograph. Even though my fingers don’t handle the cold too well, I love the cold for engagement sessions because it turns into a lot of cuddling and ultimately, romantic/cuddly engagement pictures are what I strive for. When it’s 100 degrees, it’s a little difficult to get two warm bodies close together. So I’ll take the cold any day if it results in pictures like Doug and Annette’s.
