Working with families over the course of the first year of their baby’s life is such an honor and pretty amazing! Baby pictures are a lot like weddings in that you only have one opportunity to get the pictures. I mean, a newborn is only so small for a few weeks and then after that they start to fill out a little more. An infant is only sitting up for so long until they start running around and then the stage of them sitting is no longer. There’s a lot of pressure photographing babies, but I LOVE them. I started working with the Hechts a little over a year ago when they did my Father’s Day pop-up session! Then, as the delivery date approached, we got newborn pictures scheduled and then six-month pictures. Both of these sessions were indoors. We thought that the one-year session might have to happen inside too because of all the rain we had been getting. Fortunately, we had a perfect evening for pictures. Although humid, the sunset was golden and the colors were vibrant, and the kids were excited to be at a park to do pictures. I was too! I love laid back family pictures. Sessions, where the kids can be kids, are a blast! The kids ran around, climbed the equipment, went down the slide, rode the swings and even played a little game of tag at the end. Everything about this session was amazing… minus the sweat, I think I could have done with a little less sweat from the humidity. 😛 They were a blast to work with. I can’t believe it’s already been one year though! This year has gone by so quickly, but what an honor it was to photograph the kids as they grew.
