Fall is in full swing and the weather and the colors are just amazing right now. The morning of Mark and Kimberly’s engagement session at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, the clouds provided great lighting for the session, and we were lucky our shoot in Charleston because I had photographer friends in Effingham that were having to cancel their shoots due to rain. We had a little bit of rain a couple of times but nothing to ruin the session. Plus, Mark and Kimberly are awesome and probably would have stayed out their regardless if it started raining. We started at the college and took pictures around the grounds, from some of the landscaping to the architecture, EIU provided a lot of photo opportunities and with the tremendous lighting we had, everything worked out perfectly.
After EIU we made our way to Lake Charleston to finish up the session. There was a really nice area that had a couple really large trees and made for a great backdrop and some really awesome wide pictures. Of course, it wouldn’t be a fall session without throwing leaves in the air, right? I know, it’s nothing groundbreaking but it’s a fun picture, the real emotion of laughter that comes from the pictures, I love it. After throwing some leaves, we captured some pictures on the edge of the lake. Again, another area perfect for some wide pictures and a great location to finish up the session. I absolutely loved working with Mark and Kimberly, they are such a fun couple and if their wedding is anything close to what their engagement session was, it’ll be quite a fun wedding. Congratulations you two!
