Fall was in full effect for Meredith and Garrett’s engagement session. The colors were as bright as could be. The temperature was just cool enough to require a jacket, and a slight breeze. Of course, during this time of year, schedules get JAM PACKED!! And this fall has been one of the busiest falls for me lately, it’s actually giving something to do over the winter, I’ve got to come up with a better way of handling a busy rush like this one where my service and turnaround doesn’t slack. I’m just being real, y’all came at me like a wildfire! 🙂 But unlike most wildfires, this was one I was super thrilled to be a part of! I of course love staying busy, but even more, I’m thrilled that I was trusted and chosen to capture the pictures for so many – from engagements, to weddings, to families and seniors, and even a couple commercial jobs in there, it’s been so great. And now it’s all coming to a close with the end of the year just around the corner.
Meredith and Garrett wanted their pictures at the state park near Newton, IL. The park was fantastic and it provided so many picture opportunities, especially with the fall colors. We then made our way to some family ground where we wrapped up the session. Garrett runs his own towing business and wanted some pictures done with his truck, and I think we definitely got some pretty awesome pictures of the two of them – possibly some pictures worthy of some marketing material, huh? 😀 Sessions like these, I absolutely love, we spent so much time from the shooting to just chatting with each other, having a chance to get to know one another and hang out. Don’t get me wrong, it’s work of course, especially when it comes time to edit, but I absolutely love having a chance to take a little while to get to know couples and to feel out their personalities and have this time to get comfortable with one another so when the wedding day comes around, we definitely do not feel like simply another vendor then but rather we feel like friends at a wedding that we need to take pictures at. It’s a great feeling and I’m so thrilled and honored that Meredith and Garrett are allowing us this chance to capture those special moments of the two of them!
