After what seemed like months of rain, we finally got a good day! I mean, seriously, prior to Beth and Brett’s wedding, it had been raining nonstop! I was partly expecting central Illinois to be added as one of the new Great Lakes! Beth and Brett’s wedding was number one of three on this weekend. I’ve done two wedding weekends before, but this was my first hat trick wedding and let me tell you, this kind of work energizes me greatly! I love being able to do work that I’m passionate about and given the opportunity to do that very thing three days of the weekend? Count me in! As the sunlight peeked through the trees of a private backyard on the lake, Beth and Brett had the perfect scene and location for their wedding. It was a small private affair with just the two of them, an officiant, guitarist and their kids (and of course me as well). I LOVED this! Even from a planning perspective, it’s super easy to plan, little to no stress. We talk about this a lot on my new podcast –> aweddingpodcast.com/
I’m a huge fan of intimate, private ceremonies. It seemed so personal and as if nothing else around them was there, it seemed as if it was just the two of them for a brief moment in time. All that said, they did have some friends waiting on them to celebrate the occasion. Their friends were waiting on a boat in the water. As soon as they kissed and were officially married and had a moment with their kids, their friends floated by on a boat blasting music and popping confetti cannons! It was pretty hilarious and quite a way to cap off the wedding day. I feel honored to have been a part of their wedding and love everything about their private ceremony.
