Can it really be that this is our last wedding of the year?! It literally seems like yesterday that I was starting the wedding season. I can’t believe how much has happened. I know everyone says at the end of every year how quickly the year has gone by. I’ve also heard and felt how quickly time goes by having a kid and now with another baby on the way (at the time of writing this blog), that’s made time go by even quicker. On top of all that, being a wedding photographer, I swear, is the worst job when it comes to how quickly a year can go by. Don’t take this as me complaining, it’s not that at all. Think about when you plan a vacation. You probably plan it months, maybe even a year in advance. It seems so far away, you blink and vacation is already over. How did that happen so quickly? That’s what photographing weddings is like. I’ll hear from couples months in advance. After they book, I look at my calendar and think that there is so much time until their wedding day. I blink (it feels like) and the wedding has already come and gone.

Our last wedding was a great one! Renea and Kent had probably the perfect day for a Fall wedding. I know I say that a lot and so my words probably have very little value, but I really mean it, it was perfect. The Fall colors were extremely vibrant, especially the yellows. The temperature, while a little chilly, was a cold that felt good for a wedding day. You know, nerves and stress can add a little sweat, so a nice cool air helps calm things down. The ceremony took place in Newton and the reception took place at the Thelma Keller Convention Center in Effingham, IL. It seems like the last few years we have wrapped things up at the Keller Convention Center. I won’t complain about that at all. I’ve always said, if you want a smooth reception, one where you don’t need to worry about a thing, just enjoy the evening, Keller Convention Center is going to provide that ease of mind for you. The venue looked amazing. It was nice and open allowing guests plenty of room to move and the decor was top notch. These two, along with their wedding party, were a blast to photograph. I couldn’t have asked for a better wedding to wrap the season up with, and I’m so thankful they allowed us the opportunity to tell the story of their big day.
