Being able to document the story of a couple going from engagement to celebrating the first birthday of their little one is such a special feeling. Sometimes it seems like a dream when I consider how long our relationship has lasted and I can’t say enough how grateful I am when couples come back to me to allow me to photograph the continuation of their story of life. Such is the case with the Pomeroy family. Looking through their images, it’s so fun to see them grow from being engaged to married, to now celebrating their son Aiden’s first birthday! What a fun boy he is to photograph too. I mean, if his smile doesn’t put a smile on your face, I don’t know what will. He has such a picture-perfect smile. We had such a perfect evening for Fall pictures of him as well as some family pictures of the three of them. After we got the safe, clean pictures out of the way, it was time to get dirty. By that, I mean, it was time to get the cake out and let Aiden do his thing with it. Cake smash sessions are always so much fun because every kid is different with them. Some will smash, some will eat a dangerous amount and others will just look at it. My son, Liam was the look at it type. haha Aiden was the play with it type. He didn’t really eat but he loved grabbing handfuls and squeezing. It was so funny to watch. Then at one point, he lifted his leg and laid it down on the cake. He took “cake smash” literally by smashing the rest of the cake with his foot. What a fun session this was. I’m so grateful they have allowed me to continue to work with them and document the story of their family growing. Happy Birthday Aiden!
