It was about 1.5 years ago when I was shooting Patrick and Lara’s wedding in St. Louis and about 2 years ago when we were doing their engagement pictures in LaFayette park in St. Louis. Things can change a lot in that amount of time, and things did change for these two; they welcomed in a new addition to the family. Not only was it a thrill to photograph them as a family unit, but I absolutely love it when I have the opportunity to work with couples after photographing their weddings. It’s great being able to catch up and have the time to reconnect with them.
The day was perfect. Early morning, sun was out, colors of the grass and flowers were vibrant, it all made for some great pictures of such a sweet family. The thing I love about family pictures is just allowing them to do their thing. Sure we get some posed pictures, but I love the pictures of letting the kids just be kids and seeing what happens. Think about it. When you look through pictures of your family, chances are a parent is missing from the pictures, right? Photographing families allows us to photograph the entire family hanging out, and I absolutely love this.
Again working with Patrick and Lara was so much fun. Their engagement session and wedding was so much fun and they are such a fun couple.
