This blog is going to be all about getting you excited for warmer days. Here’s the deal with Winter. I love it. It’s probably my favorite season, with a big IF… if there is snow. If there is not any snow, then it needs to be warm. If it’s going to be cold, there needs to be snow on the ground so we can be outside enjoying the white powder. Since there isn’t any snow, it’s usually at this point during winter when I begin to not like the season and want it to be warmer so I can at least be outside and do something. Until those days come, I’ll relive them in pictures. Last Fall, the Carrells wanted some updated pictures. I’ve talked about them enough, but in case you are new, Tyler is a good friend from high school. We spent a semester together in college as well. We were both a part of each other’s weddings and they were one of my first weddings I was able to shoot as a wedding photographer. Since then, he and Rachel had a boy named Parker. I’ve been giving the opportunity to work with them a number of times since they welcomed Parker into the world. It’s been so much fun watching him grow and even more fun, I love that they are all about family pictures that show off a little personality and candidness. They love letting me do whatever I want to try and are all for capturing their silliness on camera. In this session, I wanted to use some colored powder. I didn’t know how that would work because they wear white shirts in their pictures and this powder was bound to ruin those shirts. They brought a second set and after our “safe,” aka clean images, they switched over to prepare to get dirty. What a fun time this was using colored powder. It made for some fun pictures and memories.
