It’s so good to be back in the wedding game! After nearly three months of no weddings, it felt like a winter slow season (minus the cold). Except for the last time I had a wedding, we were just getting out of the winter season. This year has definitely been an odd year, but I can’t think of any better couple, any better weekend, and any better location than this one. Tia and Jed had the perfect Friday and Saturday for a wedding weekend celebration. I’m not even exaggerating, these two days were perfect. I’m also becoming a firm supporter of doing a two-day celebration as opposed to a single day. I’ll describe Tia and Jed’s wedding and maybe it’ll make sense why I think this is a great idea. Friday was the day of the ceremony. They wanted a sunset wedding as the ceremony was taking place on family property overlooking rolling pasture and woods. The ceremony took place at 8:00 pm so that they could finish the ceremony and grab a few sunset pictures of the two of them since sunset was at 8:30 pm. Of course, doing a reception this evening would be nearly impossible anyway unless you were to forego the meal. Prior to the ceremony, we did the first look, wedding party, and family pictures. This way, on Saturday, all we had to worry about was capturing the celebration of their wedding.

On Saturday, we started early afternoon as the wedding party began the celebration. Later that day, the wedding party met up with the guests for the meal and dancing. What a fun day this way. It was so different for me, because pretty much every wedding I photograph, everything happens in one day. Everyone seemed more relaxed doing this two-day split event. I felt extremely relaxed by the time of the reception because I was. I had a night of sleep in between the ceremony and reception. I could get used to that. HA! Saturday evening, the weather was just as fantastic as the night before, if not better! I’m so thankful and feel so blessed that I got to work with Tia and Jed. Their wedding was a ton of fun and as I’ve mentioned a thousand times in just two paragraphs, I LOVED the two-day event.
